Ustadhah Umm e Zawwar was born and raised in Lahore where she began her journey as a university student at the Lahore University of Management Sciences. She graduated with a Bsc (Hon) in Economics in 2008 and went on to complete her Alimiyyah Degree from Zaynab Academy in 2011. This era of learning was not only limited to the theory of Tafseer, Hadith and Fiqh but with the special mercy of Allah swt also made inroads into the path of spiritual development. She has remained in the guidance of Shaykh Mufti Kamaluddin Ahmed for seven years and continues to benefit from his teachings and counsel. Within the curriculum of Dars-e-Nizami, she has taught Quran, Hadith, Fiqh and Arabic Grammar to university students and working women. Ustadhah has also had close interaction with Islamic Banking and continues to educate herself in the field; though her real areas of interest are Education, Social Psychology and Linguistics. Ustadhah M. Durrani is also a home maker and a mother of two.
